Macclesfield Town FC are a soccer club playing in Coca Cola League 2 in England. I have been a fan of the team for more years than I care to remember - the first game I watched was in December 1967! The club is now in serious difficulties due to a crippling fine levied on it by the English Football Association. I won't go into details but all observers in the UK feel the fine is totally disproportionate to the 'crime' they committed. In short the club has to find £300,000 (about 1/3 of it's annual turnover) by the end of January 2006.
